with socks on our feet and constant rain outside.... I baked!

Last weekend didn’t leave much up the imagination. I had Friday off work!..... finally a day in lieu from the crazy Tempe store opening week…unfortunately it did consist of an early (7am) get up to greet the electrician that came to finish off some lights we had installed, followed by a trip to the doctors and the bank to FINALLY change my name.

All round fun!

A little bit of food and present shopping with the hubby (who also scored the day off – a perk that comes with being the manager) was done.

With socks on our feet and constant rain outside, we curled up on the couch for the mid-day movie.

I’m not sure what it is about the cold weather, but it always puts me in the moods for baking. Something that I’m not that great at, but always keen to give it a go. Anyway, after a nap I decided to take on the kitchen.

I love our kitchen! Don’t get me wrong, I also very much look forward to ripping it out soon and starting again, but for the moment I love the space and retro blue bench top. It has heaps more cupboard space than our last (very little) granny flat and makes cooking that much easier. I also love that I’m always, with-out fail, accompanied by a certain little black and white kitten who simply like to look alongside whatever is being constructed.

Below are a few snaps of the process and final product.

Well, it looked pretty...

Kind of tasted ok...

Had a lot of help eating it...

Welcome to the world...

Last week, we welcomed to the world Little Georgia May Sparks.
A big, beautiful, healthy baby girl.
We're all very excited that she decided to arrive 2 weeks early, and Mum and Dad are over the moon. Great parents in the making.

Just a little something I made up for her arrival.

Just a few shots of the weeks that was.

I think busy is an understatement, but at least it is all over and I am now getting my life back.

I thought it might be nice to share a little bit about what has been going on in the live of Jess, so below are a few shots of the week that was.

Over the let week we opened up our very new IKEA TEMPE store. It truly was a wonderful week, and I was very privileged to be involved in all the madness. I really love my job, and this week was a true example of why.

Hope you enjoy the post.

Eve the rain couldn't keep them away. Blue and Yellow Ponchos all round.
My Lovely friend Imogen, all dressed up in her Swedish attire, very excited about all the meat balls. Funny thing is, she's actually a Kiwi.
Our IKEA FARNLG ice sculptor we had made up for our Media Launch. They loved it.
Stunning flowers
The beautiful little Ruby having a afternoon kip. Now that is what I call a portable cot.
Not bad idea if I say so myself.
Walls of fabric

We had a fabric tent made up for some VIP guest. It was truly beautiful.

This is me - standing on the roof of IKEA...yes on the ROOF! It was pretty amazing.
We were doing some filming with the crew from the morning show.

Set for a beautiful wedding. SO stylish.

It really was a wonderfully tiring week, so much fun, not much sleep, but all was achieved.
IKEA Tempe is now open and ready and waiting for you to pay a visit.
